Come to Sisterhood!
Sisterhood has been an important part of our temple for more than fifty years. During all those years Sisterhood has provided education, entertainment, social programs, and friendship not only for women, not only for our congregation, but also for the entire Jewish community, as well as much needed financial support for our temple. But it wasn’t Sisterhood that did all these extraordinary things; it was the people of Sisterhood, the women who became members so the power that comes with having a critical mass of people could be used by Sisterhood to provide all those programs, services, funding, and friends that enhance Jewish life. Now it’s your chance to be one of these people.
Join Sisterhood, or, if you’re already a member, renew your membership. Nothing could be easier. Just fill out the form and send it in along with your dues. Don’t forget to fill out the part about what programs interest you–you get more out of Sisterhood the more you put into it.
Speaking of dues, we have voted to increase Sisterhood’s dues by $9 for temple members and $5 for non-temple members. Starting this year, dues for temple members and non-temple members will be $45. You know how prices have gone up in ShopRite, at Costco and just about anywhere else you shop? Well, Sisterhood needs to do the same in order to keep providing the programs and services that mean so much to all of us. Dues had not been raised in so long–even though the cost of things like flour for hamantaschen baking, postage, lox for Sisterhood Shabbat kiddush, and Women’s League dues–that we could not find the records for when the previous dues were set. Please don’t let $9 deter you from joining or renewing your membership.
